Make Dad Feel Like a Rock Star This Father’s Day
Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday each June, this year on the 16th. If you’re still looking for an idea for something your child can give dad this year, we’ve got a fun and easy activity. Best of all, it will help your child make dad feel like a “rock star.”
We visited the 3-year-olds at Kiddie Academy of Abingdon, MD where they were doing an activity called, “My Dad Rocks.” The activity is appropriate for children 3 and older.
Here’s what you need:
Rocks – at least one stone for each child. The best ones are flat and smooth, bigger than a pebble, but smaller than a baseball.
Paints – child-safe paints in lots of bright colors.
Paintbrush – big enough for little hands to use comfortably.
Glue – child-safe school glue works best.
Googly eyes, feathers and/or other small items to attach to the rock – this gives the rock some fun and personality.
Your child can paint the rock with his or her – or dad’s – favorite colors. When the paint dries, they can use a drop of glue to attach googly eyes and other items to decorate their rock. When finished, they can add a note to let everyone know, “My Dad Rocks!”
