Kiddie Academy of Elkton Earns Top Small Business Honor
November 16, 2018
Wendy Burkley-Barry, owner of Kiddie Academy of Elkton (MD), was recently awarded the 2018 Small Business Award by the Elkton Chamber & Alliance. Additionally, Kiddie Academy of Elkton was recently recognized as Cecil County Maryland’s Best Child Care Facility, voted on by Cecil County residents.
“We’re honored to have earned the 2018 Small Business Award and to have been named Cecil County’s Best Child Care Facility,” said Burkley-Barry. “Our commitment to provide quality care for our students and their families is unmatched, and I’m so proud our team for the positive impact and sense of community we’ve cultivated.”
2018 has been fruitful for Burkley-Barry and her team at Kiddie Academy in terms of local recognition, and they have even more reason to celebrate—Kiddie Academy of Elkton is also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. What began as Kiddie Academy’s first franchised location in 1993, Kiddie Academy of Elkton continues to utilize the Life Essentials® curriculum created to promote each child’s intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth.
“From day one to now, Wendy has been an outstanding owner and role model for other franchisees,” said Kiddie Academy President Greg Helwig. “She has a high degree of operational integrity and is active in her community. She represents the Kiddie Academy brand the way it was meant to be represented. It’s an honor to have her in our system.”
“It’s been a pleasure serving generations of Elkton families for nearly three decades, and we look forward to many more years to come,” Burkley-Barry added.
