Joanne Johnson leads our Kiddie Academy of Hamilton Park team bringing with her over 18 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She holds a Bachelors Degree in English Language & Literature from Rutgers University, New Brunswick and is currently completing of her MS in Organizational Leadership. Joanne began her journey in the field as a classroom teacher and has taught every age group we serve. As she advanced in the field, she attained roles as a Program Director, Assistant Director, Management Mentor and Early Childhood Trainer before moving into the role of Center Director. Joanne’s comprehensive Director experience includes settings such as corporate/client-based childcare, nonprofit and community-based settings. Additionally, Joanne carry’s with her the experience of having worked for Kiddie Academy as both an educator, trainer and administrator, for over 10 years. She has worked at the company's Hamilton Park location since the onset of the center's construction. Joanne has an acute understanding of the needs of the families Kiddie Academy of Hamilton Park serves. She is an innovative and creative, forward thinker that continuously looks for ways to raise the bar and provide the highest quality service. Her wealth of knowledge, experience and talents complement the experience that our families enjoy. Joanne believes strongly in providing a program where the space between the minutes is given great importance, as those are the invaluable moments where cherished bonds are formed. She is committed to maintaining a school environment that is not only nurturing and educational but also FUN!
When Joanne is not leading the team at Kiddie Academy, she enjoys attending local events with her husband, trips to Sandy Hook, spending time with her kitties (each rescued through our local LHS and HCAL), visiting family, attending Rutgers football games, photography, trips to museums and the aquarium. Joanne is available daily to meet with your family and would love to share with you all of the ways that Kiddie Academy of Hamilton Park will exceed your expectations!

Meet KA Ray! Ray lives at KAHP and ventures out once a year, on Ground Hog's Day, to declare whether KAHP will have an early Spring or 6 more weeks of Winter! KA Ray grew up as a life long fan of Punxsutawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck! He is a proud graduate of Kiddie Academy, where he studied meteorology and weather system charting. KA Ray finds the best way to predict Spring, is to simply step outside and look for his shadow. Once he makes his determination, an official proclamation is announced and posted for all of his friends! KA Ray keeps himself busy at KAHP throughout the year, learning with his friends and experiencing new things! His favorite things to do are diving into the sensory table for ooey-gooey activities, listening to stories at circle time and going for stroller rides. Be sure to stop by the office and say "Hi" to KA Ray! He loves to make new friends!
Assistant Preschool TeacherMr. Pete joins KAHP as an Assistant Teacher in the Bluejays’ classroom. Pete has over 13 years of experience working in child care as well as an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. Pete’s favorite part about working with children is watching them use the skills they’ve learned to accomplish new tasks on a daily basis. If you walk by the Bluejays’ room after naptime, you’re sure to find our little guys enthralled in story time with their friend “Mr. Pete.”
Floating Assistant TeacherMs. Alyssa enhances KAHP as one of our exceedingly awesome center floaters! Alyssa loves to lend a hand with the infants in the Puffin and Hummingbird classrooms as well as participate in gooey science experiments with our older friends! Alyssa comes to us with 3 years of child care experience and is currently working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. Lead Teacher Older Infants & Administrative Support Specialist
Ms.Angie joined the KAHP team in 2017. We were thrilled to have her transfer from another Kiddie Academy following a relocation to our area! Ms.Angie specializes in Infant care and currently leads our Older Infant Class, "The Larks" working with student 12-18 months of age. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Ms. Angie serves as our locations Administrative Support Specialist, supporting our leadership team as well as the faculty and families at KAHP. She is also a member of our KAHP Street team, and can be seen at many events happening in our community! Ms.Angie is currently finalizing her BA degree in Education and brings with her extensive experience working in the field of Early Childhood Education. Ms. Angie loves to make school fun! She focuses heavily on building partnerships with her families and supporting her student's needs as they work to reach their milestones. Ms. Angie looks forward to meeting your family and working with your little one.
Assistant Teacher Older InfantsMs. Chantal enriches our toddler program as an Assistant Teacher in the Lark classroom. Chantal joined KAHP with over 3 years of child care experience and is currently working towards her BA in History/Education. Chantal’s favorite part about working with children is the part she plays in helping them grow. Rumor has it that if you walk pass the Lark’s room in the morning, you can catch “Ms. Chanty” rocking out with her little friends to “Baby Shark.” Doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Assistant Teacher Older InfantsMs. Chasity works with our Older Infants, supporting Ms. Noelle in the Sparrows classroom. Ms. Chasity joins our team with experience working in childcare settings with all ages. She enjoys engaging the students in activities that support their growth and development. Ms. Chasity is the proud mom of three little ones. She looks forward to meeting your family and supporting your little one along their educational journey!
Assistant Teacher Older InfantsMs. Ebony is one of our fantastic Assistant Teachers in the Lark classroom. Ebony joined KAHP with 3 years of childcare experience and is currently working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education. Ebony enjoys engaging the children in the daily lesson plans as well as the weekly water days at the park during the summer. Ms. Ebony also serves as one of our Character Actors for our annual Curious George Live event, bringing literacy to life for our students and the children in our community! Lead Two's TeacherMs. Khalilah works as a Co-Lead Teacher with our 2-year-old friends in the Pelican classroom. She excels at implementing our Life Essentials® curriculum into her daily activities with the children and can always be seen with a huge smile on her face. Khalilah comes to us with multiple degrees including a Bachelors in Sociology/Anthropology with a minor in Special Education as well as an Associates in Business Management. Khalilah’s favorite part about working with children is watching them achieve their goals!
Assistant Teacher Preschool Prep (Goldfinch Class)Ms. Luz joins KAHP as the much anticipated Assistant Teacher in the Goldfinch classroom. She comes to us with over 3 years of childcare experience and is currently working towards her BA in Early Childhood Education. Luz loves to measure the growth of her students as they progress through her classroom and into the next. If you walk by the Goldfinch classroom, there’s a good chance you’ll find Luz and her group of little guys under a parachute tent or painting a cardboard box into a rainbow school bus! Lead Teacher Younger Infants (Hummingbirds Class)Ms. Melanie currently inspires the growth of the youngest age group here at KAHP as a Co-Lead Teacher in the Hummingbird classroom. Melanie joins us with over 10 years of experience in working with children as an educator and holds degrees in Family Ecology and Early Childhood Education. Melanie loves watching her students grow in new ways every day!
Lead Teacher Younger Infants (The Hummingbirds)Ms. Michelle enriches our infant program as a Co-Lead Teacher in the Hummingbird classroom. She brings 8 years of childcare experience with her to KAHP as well as a degree in Psychology. She also has completed several classes in the field of Child Development. Michelle enjoys the humor in raising children and nothing makes her happier than seeing a smile on one of her student’s faces. Michelle currently lives in Jersey City with her husband of one year, Ethan. It would be hard to find someone craftier than Michelle, she is our resident Michael’s aficionado.
