    James & Brittany Ihedigbo, Owners

NFL veteran James Ihedigbo and wife Brittany chose the Kiddie Academy child care franchise in 2016 to continue building a family legacy and foundation for their future. James was an undrafted Free Agent in 2007 out of the University of Massachusetts, and from there went on to have a 10-year NFL career as well as win a Super Bowl Championship in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile his wife Brittany Ihedigbo earned her degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts as well. As a family they’ve had the great pleasure of playing for the New York Jets, New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills throughout their tenure career. James and Brittany launched their own charitable foundation, Hope Africa USA in 2009 which helps students of African Decent receive educational scholarships, college prep courses and assistance to ensure all students get the best possible help and guidance along their college journey. Their foundation and its efforts have helped over 50 students across the country pay for college tuition. As James NFL career was ending the Ihedigbo’s began to think about life post football, and it was at that time James and Brittany began to research potential child care franchise options in and around the Houston area. During their research they came across Kiddie Academy which academically was set apart from all the other child care franchises. During this process James and Brittany sought the advice of James mother Dr. Rose Ihedigbo who has an earned PhD in Early Childhood education. As the Ihedigbo’s laid out their options, in order to get the full experience Brittany and James enrolled their young daughter Grace in a nearby location and were blow away by her academic achievements and new that Kiddie Academy was the right franchise partner. James and Brittany opened Kiddie Academy Lakes of Savannah in Rosharon Tx, on July 10th, 2016. The Ihedigbo’s have achieved great success, both in business as well as personal standpoint. They have consistently maintained high enrollment numbers, created a well-known brand and presence in their community and formed many solid relationships with families they serve. James and Brittany have had the pleasure of seeing the results of their hard work in the many children they serve. They have seen the quality of the product first hand with the children’s advancements and accomplishments.

    Teri Wicks, Director

Teri has been a Director for the past five years. She just completed and received a non-expiring Directors license by completing over 600 hours of Continuing Childhood Development Education and Management. Before she became a Director, she taught in the Preschool industry for the past eight years as a Preschool teacher. She has taught as young as 18 months and up to Kindergarten. It was when her youngest child attend a Mother’s Day Out Program and Teri helped by subbing in a class that she discovered that this was where her passion came alive. Teri’s philosophy is that if she takes care of her parents and staff, they will take care of her kids! She believes that Preschool is the foundation that all children need before they begin their journey in education. Nothing gives her more pleasure than to see a child achieving a task as simple as saying their A, B, C’s or writing their name for the first time. Teri also volunteered at her church in the Children’s Nursery overseeing the volunteers helping with the babies. She continued to do this along with her duties at the Preschool until she took over the Directors position. Teri has been married to Bob for twenty-four years and has four wonderful children Cory, Britt, Adam and Sarah. She homeschooled her youngest two and took all the information she learned there and transferred it to the Preschool industry. Teri states that she wants all her kids to MASTER not learn and she does this by the way she trains her staff. She unwinds the day by watching old movies, reading books or spending time with her family. She also loves traveling with her family (yes, she like car trips) and Disney is a place she never gets tired of visiting. Teri also has three other members of the family that she must mention; Bandit, Lucy and Ginger her three Shih Tzu’s. Life just wouldn’t be the same without them!
