Academies celebrate Earth Week

A huge “thank you” goes out to Kiddie Academy locations nationwide for showing how much they love our planet during Earth Week (April 18-22).

Academies everywhere took part in environmental activities throughout the week leading up to Earth Day on Friday, April 22. Among the activities was an Earth Day art contest, where students worked together to create pieces of art using recycled materials. Each classroom was invited to add a piece to their Academy’s project and to help spread the word about protecting our environment. The contest winner was Kiddie Academy of Langhorne (PA). As part of their prize, they received a gift card to Bower & Branch, a group of growers and independent garden centers who share a common passion for trees and the people who plant them. The gift card can be used to purchase native plants that are vital to maintaining and restoring local habitats. They also chose Ocean Conservancy to be the beneficiary of a $1,000 donation being made on their behalf. This donation will help support critical programs that protect the ocean from today’s greatest global challenges.

The Kiddie Academy corporate office also donated $1,000 to the National Forest Foundation—that equates to roughly 1,000 trees planted. Our system of Academies raised an additional $509, adding 509 trees to our total trees planted!
