Hooray! The fight against childhood obesity is beginning to show results!
According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the obesity rate among preschoolers declined by a statistically significant amount in 19 states and U.S. territories between 2008 and 2011.
Thanks to government initiatives, like First Lady Michele Obama’s “Let’s Move!” Campaign, states where obesity rates have declined have taken action to incorporate healthy eating and active living into children’s lives.
Over 90% of Kiddie Academy® locations nationwide have received certification as participants in the “Let’s Move!” child care initiative — a public statement of Kiddie Academy’s system-wide commitment to a healthier future for children.
Health and fitness are integral parts of Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials® philosophy, which addresses the importance of keeping children fit and healthy by ensuring children’s daily routines meet and exceed the recommendations of leading national health and fitness organizations.
