Kiddie Academy Partners with Family Promise

One of the exciting ways we are supporting families with children is through our national partnership with Family Promise, the nation’s leading nonprofit addressing the issue of family homelessness.

Family Promise’s dedication to strong financial health and their commitment to transparency has earned them the highest possible Charity Navigator rating for the ninth year in a row. Their perfect score of 100 reflects the nonprofit’s tireless work supporting families experiencing homelessness. Charity Navigator is America’s largest independent charity evaluator.

COVID-19 and Family Homelessness

Family Promise, like Kiddie Academy, has found new ways to continue serving families amid the global health pandemic.

As with many national-scale issues, COVID-19 exacerbated the nation’s housing crisis putting many families on the brink of homelessness and further impeding families already experiencing homelessness.

COVID-19 struck when 20.8 million renter households (47.5% of all renter households) were already rental cost-burdened, according to 2018 numbers. (via: The Aspen Institute)

Children experiencing homelessness may live in substandard housing conditions, may lack access to basic hygiene supplies, may have other material hardships (such as food insecurity), and may have difficulty accessing health care, all of which increases their risk of infections, including COVID-19.
