As a way to promote even more learning and growth, many Kiddie Academy^® locations provide complementary programs in addition to our established developmental areas of education. These complementary programs are yet another way Kiddie Academy helps your child become more "school ready" and gives him or her an even stronger foundation for the future.

A Kiddie Academy complementary program cornerstone is our Character Education curriculum. Through Kiddie Academy’s character education programs, children learn from an early age that their behavior and assistance can help others beyond their immediate circles.

That’s why each month at Kiddie Academy, a value, such as loyalty or acceptance, is introduced to your child throughout daily academy activities, enabling him or her to better understand the society in which we live and how to interact more successfully with others.

Other complementary programs at your local Kiddie Academy Child Care Learning Center may include:

American Sign Language (ASL)

Most children are not developmentally ready to speak until approximately two years of age. Babies are developmentally able to communicate with signs much earlier than that. Some studies indicate children as young as five to six months of age can communicate with limited signs.

Even for children beyond two years of age, learning a second language is fun and has many developmental benefits. ASL stimulates learning through different senses. Sign language can be very beneficial for children who are visual, spatial, or tactile learners.

Spanish

Studies have shown that learning another language before the age of six helps children read sooner, show advanced cognitive development, and score higher on math and verbal sections of standardized tests. Spanish programs may include the teaching and use of theme-related words, counting, and conversational phrases.
