Character Focus of the Month: We Get Along

This month, we are focusing on our Character Essential Trait, “We Get Along.”

Children are learning that everyone has their own unique strengths and abilities, and that our differences make our school community stronger. With guidance and support, children practice kindness, respect, and understanding toward others, even when someone may think or act differently than they do. Through these experiences, they also begin to understand the importance of loyalty, friendship, and being a caring, supportive member of their classroom and community.

Ways to Support This at Home:
• Encourage your child to use kind words and practice taking turns during play.
• Talk about how everyone has different strengths and interests, and why that’s a good thing.
• Model respectful communication and problem-solving when conflicts arise.
• Praise your child when they show kindness, patience, or teamwork with others.
