Meet the Owners

Jessica and Matthew Bartkowski

Matt and Jessie’s journey, starting out as high school sweethearts in Mt.Lebanon, reflects a beautiful blend of diverse experiences and shared values, all converging to create a vision for Early Childhood Education in Pittsburgh. Their backgrounds in sports, scientific research, and parenting equip them with a rich tapestry of skills and perspectives that they will bring to their endeavor. Matt is a recently retired thirteen season defenseman of the National Hockey League. His career in professional hockey instilled in him the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, which are invaluable traits not only on the ice but also in the realm of education. Now, he continues to stay connected to the game with his role as a TV and radio analyst for SportsNet Pittsburgh, and nurturing young talent in his role as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Vengeance Ice Hockey team, where he imparts invaluable knowledge and mentorship. This enables him to work on communicating effectively as he shares insights with a wide audience; fostering community engagement and support for his and Jessie’s vision. Jessie's experience in scientific inquiry and research, coupled with her management skills in a research lab and as a household manager, provides a strong foundation for organizational leadership and attention to detail. Her dedication to overseeing the household and raising their children reflects her commitment to nurturing and supporting young minds, qualities that are essential in leading the Academy. Their decision to invest in Early Childhood Education stems from their personal journey of seeking quality education for their own three daughters, reflecting a deep understanding of the importance of early learning experiences and warm connection, in shaping a child's future. Inspired by the Life Essentials curriculum offered by Kiddie Academy, they aim to create a nurturing environment where children can safely thrive intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. Together, Matt and Jessie are committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and care for every child and family entrusted to their school. Their shared vision and dedication to excellence position them to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in Cranberry and beyond.

Meet Our Team

Carolyn Fogle

Director
I graduated from Mercyhurst University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Therapy and a PA Teaching Certification in Art Education: K-12. After completion of my art therapy internship I was offered a position, so I began my professional career working with children in the mental health field. I worked with children in residential treatment for six years before taking time off to start a family. When I was ready to return to work, I reconsidered my career path. I realized when I was student teaching kindergarten students that I LOVED the little ones, and I may want to consider early childhood education. Therefore, when I was offered the Director position at a small childcare center back in 2012, I took it! I spent the last 11 years working in early childhood education. I have been a classroom teacher, and I have been the Director of three different childcare centers. In 2016, when Kiddie Academy of Cranberry Township opened, I left a Director position to become a Toddler Teacher for the center. Then, in 2017, I was offered the Director position here, and have since watched the center grow into more than a childcare facility.  Today, we are a family of staff working together with our children and families to create a community! We hope to provide the best care and early childhood education possible.
