Meet the Owner

Emily Zaghi

Hello Flushing Community! My name is Emily and I look forward to meeting you and to welcoming you to Kiddie Academy. First and foremost, me and my husband, Moshe, are the proud parents of three amazing daughters, ages 9, 7, and 1.5 (a Kiddie Academy toddler!). Before joining KA, I worked as a CPA in Asset Management Tax at PwC and as the Director of Operations at a national non-for-profit. I love building and supporting passionate teams of individuals, problem solving and most of all, leading with creativity and care. My goal is that the families in our Academy know that their children are getting excellent care, having fun, and learning and growing each and every day. It is my hope that parents are as comfortable leaving their children here at Kiddie Academy as they are leaving them with family. Please don't hesitate to reach out! I can be reached directly at emily.zaghi@kiddieacademy.net. I look forward to connecting with you!

Meet Our Team

Eleftheria Karam

Director
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to get to know us.  I joined the Kiddie Academy team at our Whitestone location in September of 2011. As I went from teaching preschool to teaching pre-kindergarten, it became evident that the Kiddie Academy philosophy in early childhood education matched my own. That is when I decided to pursue the adventure of becoming the director of our Flushing location when it opened its doors in October of 2013.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, as well as in Sociology from Queens College in Flushing, New York. My Master of Science degree is in Childhood Education, specializing in Children's Literature. By applying my 23 years of experience in the field, my goal is to create an environment where our students feel safe, nurtured, and free to explore. It is in these early years that we must lay the foundation for a successful future through a lifelong love of learning. With my guidance and support, our educators will accomplish this by providing an atmosphere that incorporates a variety of manipulatives and cooperative learning materials to actively engage students’ minds. We strive to motivate and inspire the children placed in our care.

Krista Ruberti

Assistant Director
Hello and Welcome! My name is Krista, and I am honored to be the assistant director here at the wonderful Kiddie Academy of Flushing! Before joining the Kiddie Academy Team, I worked as a special education and early childhood education teacher. I have 10+ years of experience working with children in a variety of settings including in the community, at daycare, in the classroom, and in the home. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Towson University in Maryland. I received my Master of Science degree in Counseling Education from right here in Flushing at Queen’s College. Each of these degrees led to my New York State Licensure as an Early Childhood and Special Education teacher and as a School Counselor. My mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all of our staff, children, and their families feel valued, supported, and capable of achieving their individualized goals. Establishing a nurturing and collaborative learning community is essential in best supporting our children's success. I look forward to the potential opportunity to work with you on creating an impactful early learning experience, one that will leave an everlasting positive impact on your child’s future!
