Snow much fun at Kiddie Academy of Gainesville

Winter has arrived at Kiddie Academy of Gainesville, and our students and their families are celebrating with something truly special — our Snowman Family Take-Home Project. This seasonal learning activity brings creativity, literacy, and family togetherness to life, all while spreading some snowy cheer throughout our academy.

Each classroom was given a unique snowman-themed story to read at home. Families then designed and built their own snowman using materials we provided — or any favorite crafting items from home. Whether decorated with cotton balls, glitter, fabric, buttons, or recyclables, every snowman reflects each family’s imagination and teamwork.

We are already thrilled to see completed snowmen arriving at the academy! Our hallways are beginning to sparkle with creative, silly, unique, and heartwarming snowman designs — and each one tells a little story about the joy of learning together at home.

This project is designed to support learning beyond the classroom. Families read together, discuss the story, and then plan how their unique snowman will look. From Infants to School-Age, each age group was given story-related inspiration to spark creativity and fun. The result? A strong connection between reading, art, and early childhood development — with memories made along the way.

As more creations arrive, every snowman will be proudly displayed at our Winter Carnival for everyone to enjoy. We can’t wait to see our collection grow and to celebrate the season with our amazing Kiddie Academy community.
