Individual pieces of art, visually and experientially unique, will come together beautifully to raise money for charity. 100% of proceeds from this event will go to the MED13L Foundation, a collective group of individuals, parents, researchers, and medical professionals banded together in search of a cure for MED13L syndrome.

My name is Angela and I am the Director at Kiddie Academy of Gaithersburg. Aside from managing the day to day operations of the center, enrollment and parent communication, I also ensure that our Life Essentials curriculum is implemented to its fullest potential. I ensure that each teacher has the tools that they need to implement the curriculum in a meaningful, hands-on approach to inspire lifetime learners. I have spent that last 20 years working with children from infancy to school age. After obtaining my degree in Early Childhood Education from Hood College, I focused specifically on teaching Math and Phonics in the classroom as a precursor to Kindergarten readiness. The experience that I have had in the classroom enables me to support teachers in their day to day responsibilities, whether I am organizing supplies for amazing art projects or science experiments, coordinating content for Back-to-School Night, or supporting teachers with assessments or parent conferences.

Hi! My name is Rick, and I am the Regional Director Facilities for Kiddie Academy of Gaithersburg and Urbana. I received a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Florida in 2003 and have continued my education with courses in Early Childhood Development. My parents have owned childcare centers in Florida since 1976 and I ran our family business with them and my sister for over a decade before relocating to Maryland. I have been with Kiddie Academy since 2016. I wear many different hats at Kiddie Academy! I believe in meeting children where they are and that a strong early education experience is essential for individuals to reach their highest potential. Kiddie Academy is a great fit for me because I feel children learn best in a play-based, language-rich, and structured environment that recognizes real-life teachable moments in addition to traditional educational lessons. I also believe in the importance of building trust and strong bonds with children and their parents to establish a nurturing and consistent support system for growth and development.

For the past decade, I have maintained certification as a professional food service manager and have 9 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen at the neighborhood golf club. Here at the center, I love sharing my love for food through cooking, especially for little children!
