A Year of Growth, Gratitude, and Community: Celebrating Our 11th Anniversary

As Kiddie Academy of Gaithersburg celebrates 11 years of serving our community, we find ourselves reflecting on another incredible year of growth, learning, and giving back. Every milestone we’ve reached has been made possible by the families who trust us, the educators who inspire children each day, and the community partners who continue to support our mission.

Every new school year brings fresh opportunities for children to discover the world around them.

Our Kindergarten students explored their community through educational field trips, while younger classrooms welcomed exciting visitors like a tow truck that gave children an up-close look at the people and vehicles that help keep our community moving.

Literacy continued to be a cornerstone of our curriculum. Together, our classrooms celebrated the incredible milestone of reading more than 1,000 books throughout the year. Every story sparked curiosity, encouraged imagination, and strengthened the foundational literacy skills children will carry with them for years to come.

These experiences remind us that learning happens everywhere. It happens through exploration, conversation, dramatic play, and the everyday moments that inspire children to ask questions and think critically.

One of our greatest strengths is our educators.

This year, we celebrated two team members reaching their 10-year anniversaries with Kiddie Academy of Gaithersburg. Their dedication reflects the caring relationships and consistency that families have come to expect.

Our strong staff retention means that experienced educators continue to mentor new teachers, creating a culture where knowledge is shared, relationships are strengthened, and high-quality early childhood education remains at the center of everything we do.

Our passion for children is the same as it was on opening day. The difference is that we now have 11 years of experience to build upon. Every lesson we’ve learned has strengthened our classrooms and helped us better support the children and families who place their trust in us.

Giving back has always been a cornerstone of who we are.

This year, our Annual Children’s Art Show brought families together once again to celebrate creativity while supporting a meaningful cause. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised more than $1,500 for charity. As we look ahead to this year’s Art Show, we’re excited to set an even bigger goal of raising $3,000 for our nonprofit partner.

Our commitment to service extended beyond the Art Show. During our Earth Day celebration, our families and community came together to donate $2,500 to the Chesapeake Bay Trust, helping protect and restore Maryland’s waterways for future generations. Throughout the year, we also continued supporting local nonprofits through food drives and other community initiatives. These experiences teach our children that kindness and generosity can create meaningful change.

Some of our favorite moments each year come from traditions that connect us with the greater Gaithersburg community.

Whether participating in the Gaithersburg Book Festival, connecting with local businesses and leaders at the Upcounty Chamber Wine Tasting, or attending other community events throughout Montgomery County, we’re proud to represent early childhood education beyond our classroom walls.

The true measure of this past year is found in the friendships formed on the playground, the confidence children gained as they mastered new skills, the laughter shared in our classrooms, and the trust families place in us every day.

Our passion has never changed.

Our knowledge has continued to grow.

Our children have benefited from every day of the past year.

To every child, family, educator, alumni, and community partner who has been part of our journey, thank you. Your trust and support have shaped the past 11 years, and we are excited for everything still to come.
