Kiddie Academy is excited to share a meaningful update as it looks ahead to a season of spring and summer events centered on community, connection, and giving back.
Philanthropy has long been a core part of the Kiddie Academy experience. Since opening, the academy has consistently sought opportunities to support nonprofit organizations through donation drives, community partnerships, and its Annual Children’s Art Show. Each effort is designed to create real-world connections for families while supporting causes that matter.
This year, that commitment continues with an added layer of purpose.
At the start of the 2024 school year, Kiddie Academy introduced newly themed classroom names inspired by nature, growth, and the environment. This shift was designed to reflect children’s developmental journeys while encouraging curiosity about the natural world. As part of this initiative, a portion of fall registration fees was set aside to support organizations dedicated to protecting endangered species and preserving ecosystems.
That effort now comes full circle with the selection of Chesapeake Bay Trust as this year’s featured partner.
The Chesapeake Bay Trust advances a vision of a restored and protected watershed spanning from the Coastal Bays to the Chesapeake Bay and the Youghiogheny River by empowering local, community-based groups with funding and technical support. Each year, the Trust supports about 450 organizations, driving measurable environmental progress such as planting more than 237,000 native trees and plants, creating over 113,000 square feet of rain gardens, and engaging more than 140,000 students, educators, and volunteers in hands-on learning. With the highest rating from Charity Navigator for over 20 years and more than 90 percent of funding directed to programs, the Trust ensures that community contributions directly support meaningful, accountable work. While the organization’s mission extends beyond early childhood, its local impact makes it especially meaningful for Kiddie Academy families. In collaboration with the Trust, two upcoming events will offer opportunities for families to engage and participate.
On April 23, families are invited to attend the Earth Day Literacy Event. This gathering will bring the community together outdoors for shared reading experiences, interactive Parent Theatre, and a special check presentation to the Chesapeake Bay Trust. The event is designed to combine literacy, play, and environmental awareness in a way that is accessible and engaging for children.
Later in the season, the academy will host its 10th Annual Children’s Art Show and Charity Auction, where the Chesapeake Bay Trust will be highlighted as the featured charity. This long-standing event showcases student creativity while raising funds for impactful causes, reinforcing the connection between self-expression and community involvement.
Through both events, Kiddie Academy aims to deepen its partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Trust while creating meaningful opportunities for families to get involved locally.
As always, Kiddie Academy remains committed to fostering a community that values giving back—working together to make every day an amazing day for children, neighbors, and the environment.
