Melissa Lehan

Academy Director

Melissa Lehan is proud to serve as the Director of Kiddie Academy of Kirkland. With more than 20 years of experience in early childhood education, she brings a deep commitment to supporting children and families at every stage of early learning. Throughout her career, she has served as both an educator and director, creating nurturing, engaging environments where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Melissa’s passion for early education began at a very young age. She holds a Montessori teaching certificate, an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Melissa looks forward to building strong relationships with families and partnering together to create a joyful, enriching early learning experience for every child—making Kiddie Academy of Kirkland a trusted place where children learn, grow, and flourish. 

Stephanie Ransom

Program Supervisor

Stephanie Ransom is excited to serve as the Program Supervisor at Kiddie Academy of Kirkland. With more than 25 years of experience in early childhood education, she has worked with children from preschool through first grade and has held leadership roles as both an assistant director and director at various preschools. One of the most rewarding aspects of her career has been mentoring new educators and supporting young teachers as they grow and develop in their profession. Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. She is deeply committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel confident, supported, and inspired to develop a lifelong love of learning.

Olive Amado-Cortez

Executive Director

With 18 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and over a decade with Kiddie Academy at KAGS group, Olive brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her role as Executive Director of the Bellevue and Kirkland Kiddie Academies. Her journey through roles as Teacher, Program Supervisor, and Academy Director has shaped her expertise and dynamic leadership style. In her role, Olive collaborates with directors, staff, and families to ensure the centers deliver outstanding programs that foster children’s development, strengthen family bonds, and inspire staff. Her leadership focuses on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, driving the success of both academies. Passionate about creating inclusive environments, Olive ensures children thrive, teachers are empowered, and families feel supported. Her ability to balance strategic vision with meticulous attention to detail has solidified Bellevue and Kirkland Kiddie Academies as models of high-quality early childhood education.
