Meet the Owner

Randi Schmitz

Randi lives in Grimes with her husband Grant and their children Ellie, Lincoln, and Ryleigh. They are originally from a small town in Iowa, but spent some time living in Omaha after college. In 2018 they made the move back to Iowa. Randi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University. Randi has always enjoyed working with children. While living in Omaha Randi worked as an assistant teacher, teacher, and director in child care. Her passion for great childcare and education is what started the journey with Kiddie Academy. Having three young children of her own, she understands how difficult the decision can be to select the right child care and hopes that she can help parents feel more at ease when they choose Kiddie Academy of Urbandale.

Haleigh Wade

Director

Meet our Director, Haleigh! Haleigh lives in Bondurant with her husband Logan, and sons Maverick and Crew. She is originally from Iowa City and moved to the Des Moines area a few years ago. Haleigh joined our admin team in June of 2022.Haleigh attended Kirkwood Community Collage and has over fifteen years of experience working in childcare. While living in Iowa City she worked as a lead teacher in a variety of age groups. She spent the majority of her teaching career as a Preschool Teacher. Haleigh enjoys spending time with her family and dogs Archie and Louie, loves being outside & enjoys traveling back to Iowa City on the weekends. Teaching has always been a passion of Haleigh’s. She loves creating those bonds and relationships with both the children and their families. Creating a community within our center with our staff and families is something she strives

Alma Hasakovic

Curriculum Coordinator

Alma is the Curriculum Coordinator here at Kiddie Academy of Urbandale. She started with us in August 2022 teaching in our Preschool rooms. Alma lives in the Des Moines area with her family but loves to travel to Bosnia where her parents are from! She loves to read, go boating in the summer and spend time with family and friends. Alma has worked in child care for 7 years and has worked with children of all ages. " I enjoy working with kids because I love watching them grow and develope into amazing little people. I cannot wait to meet all of you!"- Alma
