Looking for a fun activity to celebrate this Fourth of July? Here’s an easy way to create an adorable, patriotic handprint piece of art with your child – in just three steps!
This colorful craft also allows you to practice a little education at home. Throughout the month of July, Kiddie Academy’s character education program focuses on the value of Pride through lively classroom discussions of how to demonstrate pride with each other. Proudly display your child’s masterpiece in a common area of your home for your entire family to enjoy!
Here’s what you’ll need.Â
1 Paper plate
1 Black Piece of Construction Paper
White Washable Paint (non-toxic)
Red Washable Paint (non-toxic)
Blue Washable Paint (non-toxic)
Follow these simple instructions.
Step 1:Â Pour a little bit of red, white and blue paint onto a paper plate.
Paint the inside of your child’s palm using each color paint. Rinse the brush between colors.
- WHITE PAINT: Middle finger and pinky finger
- RED PAINT: Index finger and ring finger
- BLUE PAINT: Thumb area
Step 2: Once the inside of the hand is painted, carefully place hand onto the construction paper. Press down and carefully pull hand off of the paper. Let the hand print dry.
Step 3: Once the paint is dry, apply the star stickers over the blue area of the hand print and enjoy!
