Kiddie Academy® of Bothell Receives Two National Awards:

Local Kiddie Academy child care learning center is honored with the Life Essentials® award by the parent company during their annual national conference
Bothell, WA (Grassroots Newswire) Date — Steven and Susan Ahrens, franchise owners of Kiddie Academy® of Bothell, recently received multiple awards from the parent company, Kiddie Academy, during their annual national conference in Orlando, Florida.

The academy received two Kiddie Academy® Annual Recognition Awards, including The Life Essentials® Award and the Sales and Customer Service Award. In addition, the academy received Best Practices awards for Character Education, Community Building and Family Involvement, Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum, Health & Fitness, and Technology Education.
Each year, one Kiddie Academy is chosen from the nearly 120 locations within the system as the sole winner of the overall Life Essentials® Award. The Bothell academy was selected as the 2012 winner of this award due to their dedication to exemplifying the highest level of program service delivery in each of the four Life Essentials pillar areas: Curriculum, Character Education, Health & Fitness, and Technology.
Curriculum: Kiddie Academy’s curriculum is designed to suit each stage of child development, from infancy to preschool, and up to the age of 12. The Director of the Bothell academy, Aleksa Overby, ensures that the curriculum and lesson plans for all classrooms contain the appropriate developmental elements and that they are implemented according to each child’s developmental level.
Character Education: Every month the children at Bothell learn about character education. It’s never too early for kids to learn the values that will help them to develop into good citizens, including respect, sharing, friendship, kindness, manners, and more. Their learning is documented through pictures and projects that are then displayed on the Character Education board in the lobby the following month.
Health & Fitness: Kiddie Academy of Bothell has been committed to health and fitness since the day they opened their doors by providing healthy food choices and physical activity, and through teaching the children how to carry these good behaviors throughout their lives. The teachers help solidify these behaviors and values by incorporating them into their lesson plans with discussions, projects, and both organized and free play physical activity time.
Technology: The Bothell academy takes advantage of the latest learning software and technology to make learning engaging and fun. Not only do children learn age-appropriate basic developmental skills, they learn computer literacy—a skill as essential as reading and writing.
