Sonia Lopez
Director
Career:I started ECE on January 9th, 2001, after I had my first child. I started teaching not because I loved it at first or it paid good money, but because it gave me the opportunity to watch my own children grow and not miss out on time with them, to me that is essential. My ultimate desire was to become a Lawyer, but instead started school to be a paralegal at ACC ,while raising 3 children and working a full-time job, I told myself that as soon as my youngest child graduated preschool I would then pursue my career in 2008. As you can see that didn't happen. My heart had found a new love and I could not leave teaching and making a difference in children's lives. This led me to teaching for 21 years, 8 years at TLLC, 2 years for HCISD, 10 years at The Stepping Stone School and 6 months at Kiddie Academy of Buda. The Assistant Director position opened at Kiddie Academy of Buda I took a leap of faith and applied, as this would expand my knowledge outside of just one classroom and allow me to share it with multiple classrooms and build leaders not only in children but in teachers as well. It's been very rewarding assisting in leading here for the past year and a half.I am super excited to now accept the Directors position at Kiddie Academy of Buda. My focus has always been to serve and lead as God has asked me to, I will forever give honor and glory all to him. I will continue to go above and beyond to be the best advocate for Kiddie Academy of Buda, all children, families, and staff. I am truly grateful for Sarita, Diggs, Amid and Punam for allowing me this opportunity.Personal Life:I am a wife of 6 years, a mother of 3 Adult children ages 23, 21, and 20 as well as a grandmother of 2 children ages 4 and 1. I have also been faithfully leading for The Connection Church for the last 7 years. I love to read, spend time with family, playing kickball, and softball, and serving the good Lord. I have a big faith and my heart is on fire for God, building leaders and making a difference.
