Kiddie Academy of Kent Island

The on-site director/ owners are Dana and Scott Barnhart. Dana is a graduate of University of Phoenix, with her Masters of Art, in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure. She has her teaching certificates in Maryland, Florida, and North Carolina. She started her career in 1995 as a Recreation Therapist in a residential special education program. In 1997 she began with Annapolis Recreation and Parks as the Director of their Annapolis Elementary Before and After school Program. From 2001 to 2012, Dana the Director of the corporately run Kiddie Academy of Kent Island. During her first time at Kent Island she had an active parent committee and worked with the local schools to ensure the students of Kiddie Academy were ready for kindergarten. Dana has taught 4th grade in PG and Anne Arundel counties, and now has returned as the Owner Director of Kiddie Academy of Kent Ilsand. Scott Barnhart has a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Southern Connecticut State University. He has held positions as sailing instructor, sail-maker, chemist, and is a licensed contractor in the State of Maryland. He has held project manager positions for two builders in Stevensville and was a founding partner of  Doyle Chesapeake sail loft in Annapolis. Dana and Scott's greatest joy is their 12 year old son Logan. Currently he is in the 7th grade and loves playing the Piano. It is truly a privilege to be a parent!
