For over 30 years, Michelle has been working in licensed childcare programs, nurturing children with a love of learning, self, and others. She has 8+ years of experience as a Center Director for the early childhood development of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. In this role, she simultaneously collaborated with families, teachers, and communities to support passion for inquiry and knowledge. Having a blissful childhood of exploration and curiosity, Michelle desires to provide similar safe spaces for children to interact with their environment, build social-emotional skills, and cultivate trusting relationships. Hence, she began her career as a childcare teacher and created programs illuminating a child’s imagination and sense of wonder. Michelle holds an Associate of Science degree in Preschool Curriculum, a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Development-Infant Specialization, and a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Currently, she is a full-time doctoral student working towards a Ph.D. in Child Development, focusing on the essential needs of children for whom policies and practices are created.
