Dr. Marian White-Hood

July 31, 2024 With over thirty years of committed service to education, Dr. White-Hood has been an advocate for intense and rigorous levels of curriculum and instruction which includes programs that address the needs of all children. She has embraced parents as partners in public school education and has modeled the intent of parent involvement in education from the federal law. In addition, she has used proven research-based methods, strategies, and practices to give tremendous energy and focus to Pre-K through high school practices. Winner of the Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Educator Award, Prince George’s County Public Schools Outstanding Educator Award, finalist in the Maryland Teacher of the Year Competition, Washington Post Distinguished Leadership Award, and 2002 Minority Achievement Award, Dr. White-Hood never gives up on children, parents, and community members! Dr. Marian White-Hood trained, mentored, and coached over fifty teachers who have become principals and administrators in the metropolitan area. Likewise, she has trained principals for the Department of Defense in Germany. Today, Dr. Marian White-Hood is honored to be Director for the Kiddie Academy of Silver Spring, MD. She enjoys working with over 30 distinguished teachers and spreading her love and appreciation for children and parents every day.
