I am the Administrative Director at Kiddie Academy of Urbana. I have over 15 years in the profession of Early Childhood Education. I have had a few occupation changes during my professional working career, but I always find my way back to my true passion, childcare. I started my career in Early Childhood Education as a Twos teacher and during my 15 years have been afforded the opportunity to work with all ages from infant to school age and most recently management.There are many roles and responsibilities that come along with management but my favorite is welcoming new families to the KAU family. I chose Kiddie Academy for their Life Essentials Curriculum as well as their Educational Core Beliefs. As the Administrative Director of the center, I take great pride in knowing that Kiddie Academy strives for excellence and quality in the childcare.

My favorite teaching moment is the ‘aha’ moment. You know that they just learned something new, and understood the material being taught. No day is ever boring! What I love most about Kiddie Academy is the curriculum. I feel that it is, by far, the best curriculum that I have ever worked with. Every day in the classroom I feel that I am using my education and training. I love how involved we are in the community, as well. My favorite thing to do is to help organize, and run, the STEM, music and more, and community events that are held here at KAU. I have one degree in Physical Education, another in Child Development, over 10 years of experience, and Director Qualified in the state of Maryland, and hold a Tier 5 Maryland State Credential. I enjoy weightlifting, 5k’s, and training for Frederick Running Festival, in my spare time.

I have been a part of the KAU family since Fall 2019. I have a drive and passion for bridging the gap between the community and KAU. I love our community and the community in which we serve. I truly enjoy planning events that our families and local community get to enjoy. I have been a part of the childcare/preschool community for over 17 years. I served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman prior to starting my career in Early Childhood Education. I am certified to teach in infant/toddler/two’s, preschool, and school age. I am also Director Qualified in all age levels. I have recently also gained my Child Development Associate Credential. I love what I do! Getting to watch your child grow and learn is the most rewarding part of why I chose to become a teacher after leaving the military.

Hi, my name is Riley! I have worked at Kiddie Academy since I was 18 years old! I have been in the Early Childhood Education field for more than 10 years. While working in the classroom, I primarily interacted with infants and toddlers, developing a love for supporting families as they create a strong foundation for their children. Kiddie Academy has given me multiple opportunities to learn, grow, and use my expertise to support the wonderful educators in our program.
