Community Partners Help Make a Difference at Our Charity Auction

The 6th Annual Children’s Art Show & Charity Auction at Kiddie Academy of Urbana brought together children, families, and local businesses for a morning celebrating creativity, community, and giving back.

This year, the generosity of our local business partners made an especially meaningful impact. Businesses donated gift cards, gift baskets, family experiences, and exciting prizes for attendees to bid on. Together, these donated prizes generated more than $1,500 in additional auction bids, building on the support already provided by our families and the broader community.

The fundraiser benefited Blessings in a Backpack – Frederick Chapter, helping support its mission to provide food to local children who may otherwise experience food insecurity. The success of the auction demonstrated what is possible when local businesses and families come together to support children in our community.

Local Businesses Show Their Support

From swimming and sports to creative experiences, entertainment, self-care, and family outings, our prize sponsors brought an incredible variety of opportunities to this year’s auction.

Family Fun & Adventures

• Goldfish Swim School donated a month of lessons, a waived membership fee, a swim gift kit, and a family swim pass, giving one lucky family plenty of opportunities to make a splash.

• Fourth Dimensions Fun Center donated an incredible entertainment package featuring four laser tag passes, four XD laser tag passes, four XD dark ride passes, and four one-hour unlimited arcade play passes.

• The Frederick Keys donated four tickets to a 2026 Keys game along with baseball-themed goodies, perfect for a family day at the ballpark.

• Soccer Shots donated a swag bag and season voucher, giving one lucky child the opportunity to enjoy a season of soccer.

• I9 Sports donated a free registration voucher, helping a child get involved in youth sports.

• The Great Frederick Fair donated a Family Fun Pack, giving a family the opportunity to enjoy a day at one of Frederick County’s favorite annual traditions.

Entertainment & Creative Experiences

• Warehouse Cinemas donated an exciting movie package featuring four movie passes, four regular popcorns, and a gift box.

• Live Young Candle Co. donated a candle-making class for two, giving the winning bidders an opportunity to create something together.

• Hot Fired Arts donated a hand-painted piece of pottery paired with a gift card redeemable for any pottery piece to paint in-store, creating a fun and creative experience.

Wellness & Self-Care

• City Magnolia Spa donated a gift card redeemable for any service they offer, giving the winning bidder an opportunity to enjoy some well-deserved time for themselves.

• Alter Ego Hair Color and Design Studio donated a gift card redeemable for an antigravity pedicure, offering a unique way to relax and unwind.

• OneLIFE donated a gift backpack filled with goodies and a free month membership, giving the winning bidder an opportunity to explore a local fitness community.

Local Shopping & Special Treats

• Dutchess Daughter donated a $100 gift card, giving the winning bidder the opportunity to enjoy something special.

• Lakeshore donated a gift basket filled with items for families to enjoy.

Capturing Special Memories

• Jo Marie Portraits donated a gift card for a mini photo shoot of the winner’s choice, helping a family capture memories they can treasure.

Turning Generosity Into Impact

The value of these donations goes beyond the prizes themselves. Every gift card, experience, basket, and voucher gave our families another reason to participate in the auction—and helped turn local business generosity into meaningful support for children in our community.

More than $1,500 in auction bids came directly from these donated prizes, adding to the contributions made by our families and community members throughout the fundraiser.

For Kiddie Academy of Urbana, community partnerships like these are an important part of creating opportunities for our children to learn that giving back can take many forms.
