Recognized for excellence in early childhood education, leadership, and community impact.
We are proud to announce that Laura has been named the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional of the Year – Educator of the Year.
This distinguished recognition celebrates a dedicated professional whose work inspires learning, growth, and positive change within Frederick County. Laura’s selection highlights the vital role early childhood educators play in shaping future generations and reflects her outstanding commitment to children, families, and the educational community.
With more than a decade of experience in early childhood education, Laura has devoted her career to helping children build the skills and confidence they need to thrive. As a Pre-K educator, she creates engaging learning experiences that strengthen early literacy, problem-solving, communication, and independence. Her classroom is a place where children feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Laura’s impact extends beyond academics. She intentionally helps children develop qualities such as empathy, responsibility, resilience, and confidence, skills that support success both in school and throughout life. Through thoughtful guidance and meaningful relationships, she creates an environment where children feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow.
Her dedication to the profession is reflected in her educational achievements. Laura has attained a level of education equivalent to the Tier 5 Maryland State Early Childhood Education Credential, the highest level of professional recognition for early childhood educators in Maryland. She continuously pursues professional growth and serves as a mentor to fellow educators, sharing knowledge and best practices that strengthen teaching across the academy.
Laura’s excellence has also been recognized nationally through her nomination for Kiddie Academy Educator of the Year. Her influence reaches beyond the classroom as she actively contributes to initiatives that bring families and the community together. In 2024, she played an integral role in planning and implementing Kiddie Academy of Urbana’s Annual Art Show and Charity Auction. Through her leadership, creativity, and coordination of projects for children from infancy through Pre-K, the event raised more than $4,300 to support Sophie and Madigan’s Playground.
For the families, children, and colleagues who know Laura, this recognition comes as no surprise. She is known for her warmth, dedication, creativity, and unwavering belief in every child’s potential. Whether she is supporting a child’s development, mentoring a fellow educator, or contributing to a community initiative, she approaches each opportunity with enthusiasm and purpose.
We are honored to celebrate Laura’s achievement as the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year, Educator of the Year. Her passion for education, commitment to excellence, and lasting impact on the Frederick County community make this recognition truly well deserved.
Stay tuned for photos from Laura’s recognition at the Generation Connect Summer Mixer hosted by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce later this June as we celebrate this remarkable accomplishment together.
