Transition Information Sheets
Transitions can be difficult for children, parents and teachers. From a child’s first day to transitioning to a new room, everyone must adapt to the change. There are also developmental transitions that bring a need for flexibility and understanding as well.
Transitions can be difficult for children, parents and teachers. From a child’s first day to transitioning to a new room, everyone must adapt to the change. There are also developmental transitions that bring a need for flexibility and understanding as well.
The more prepared and aware teachers and parents become – the smoother the transition is for all involved. Children vary in their ability to adapt to change and the time in which they achieve or reach developmental milestones. It is important to remember that there are no set rules or timetables, when it comes to walking, toilet training, drinking from a cup, etc. Similarly, there is no “one best way” to help children easily adjust to a new classroom or teacher. Each child needs the level of support and time that works for them.
Some of the most common developmental transitions are toilet training, walking, giving up the pacifier, weaning from the bottle, giving up a security blanket or special transitional object, issues around food (baby food to finger food, trying new foods, appropriate portions of foods, meal times, snacking, etc.). Transitions involving Academy attendance are new student transitions (from staying at home to attending school for the first time, going from part-time to full-time, moving from one preschool to another), transitioning from infant room to toddler room, transitioning from one preschool classroom to another and moving on to elementary school. Guidelines and recommendations for these transitions are included.

2025-2026 Academic Calendar
Our academic calendar is designed to provide a consistent, engaging learning experience year-round. It includes a balance of structured educational programs, seasonal themes, and scheduled breaks to support both academic growth and family planning. Key dates—such as holidays, special events, and school closures—are shared in advance to keep families informed and connected throughout the year.
Tadpoles App
We use the Tadpoles app to keep families connected and informed throughout the day. Parents receive real-time updates on their child’s activities, including photos, daily reports, and important announcements. Tadpoles provides an easy and secure way to stay engaged, ensuring you never miss a moment of your child’s learning and development.
April 2026 Food Menu
Our April menu is thoughtfully designed with children’s health and preferences in mind. Meals are child-led and made using high-quality ingredients, including organic selections sourced from trusted suppliers like Costco. We focus on sugar-free and low-sodium options to support healthy growth, while offering a variety of nutritious, balanced foods that children enjoy.
