What is a bio? Who wants to read about me? I am just your average working Parent, striving everyday to balance the demands of the different roles I fulfill as a Wife, a Mother, a School Volunteer, a Business Owner, a Group Leader and a Community Servant…you know, the usual stuff. In the Beginning - When I was in High School, I had a goal of pursuing a career in Education and becoming a Teacher. But when reality sunk in and the mound of student loan debt growing, I made a difficult decision to pursue another career path that would allow me to kick the habit of eating more than the pre-packaged noodles (you know the one) and the all you can eat pizza buffet down the street (I bet you know which one I am talking about here too!). After graduating from University of Houston (Go Coogs!), I spent my formidable years working in Corporate America, pursuing a career in the Human Resources Profession. Fast forward two decades later (yes, I know I hide my age well), I eventually came to the conclusion that I wanted more for both myself and my family. So this jump started the next chapter of our lives, to be the masters of our own destiny. Together we saved enough money to invest in a business to call our own – a child care center with Kiddie Academy. Being a working Parent, I understand and relate to what families are looking for when it comes to high quality child care. We all want our children to be loved on, cared for while in a safe learning environment. So with that in mind, I built Kiddie Academy of Woodforest to focus and address those specific needs. As I have said many times over, I personally would not represent this school if this was not one that I would consider enrolling my children in. While I never fulfilled my dream of becoming a Teacher, I have found my bliss once again in the arms of the little ones that run up to me everyday just to say, “Hi, Ms. Jean.” I look forward everyday to serving my community by offering a high quality child care facility, which in its simplest form offers a safe and nurturing environment where it is truly all about children learning through play. Want to hear more about Kiddie Academy of Woodforest? Call and/or e-mail me…I am here at the school every day! “Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand.” - Chinese proverb

My name is Tonya Reynolds and I am excited to be the NEW Director of KAW. I am happily married with 5 adult kids. I am a YiaYia to 2 wonderful grandkids that keep me pretty busy. On the rare occasion that I don’t have my grandkids, I love to read (Danielle Steele), bake, and volunteer at my church. In the 25 years of my Early Childhood career I have worn many hats in the center. I started off my career opening my own center when my children were small, once they started school I decided to close down my school and start teaching Pre-k at a local center. That’s where I found my passion. I absolutely love teaching, both children and teachers, so moving into Curriculum Coordinator was the next logical step in my career, and eventually into a management position. I believe in the importance of Early Childhood Education and its critical role in the growth of a child’s mind and spirit. I am excited to have this opportunity to utilize this understanding to help our child during their time here at KAW. They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel. - Carl W Buechner

My name is Kristi Morris and I am the School Chef. I grew up in Mississippi and moved here during my tenth grade. I have been working in the culinary arts for twenty-two years and of that, three years has been in the childcare industry. I fell in love with the culinary arts when my high school had a tour at the local college. The college offered three programs and I picked culinary arts for myself because they offered me a free cookie! When I completed the program I knew that cooking was what I was meant to do. I am also very active with my Church’s Children’s Department. “The secret to life is butter!”- Chef Kristi
