The Importance of Philanthropy

Philanthropy is the act of giving to others, and it is an important part of our society. When we give to others and work to protect our environment, we are making our community a better place. Giving back is a tangible way we put our values into action and how we bring learning to life for children at Kiddie Academy locations across the country.

There are many ways to give back, and one Franchisee did just that by hosting an art auction to support the environment. As part of Kiddie Academy of Prosper, Texas’s Earth Day activities this April, owner Fatima Sanai worked with her team to host a student-led art auction in support of the National Forest Foundation.

“We live and breathe our motto, Community Begins Here^®, every day and like to give back to the community as much as possible,” shared Sanai.

The Academy encouraged children to create unique art pieces and invited parents to bid on paintings. The proceeds from the auction were donated to the National Forest Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to protect and restore forests. The Academy incorporated lessons from our proprietary character education curriculum and used the art auction as a vehicle to spark creativity and illustrate the importance of being a good steward of our planet.

The art auction was a great success, and together with other Kiddie Academy locations and corporate support, we raised enough funds to plant more than 1,500 trees in our nation’s forests.

Kiddie Academy of Prosper’s art auction is a great example of how philanthropy can make a difference. By giving back to their community, we all work towards making the world a better place.
