Kiddie Academy of Louisville will have a 10,215 square-foot building equipped with 10 classrooms with web cameras in each, a 9,500 square-foot playground area with a tricycle track and a mini soccer field, and a nature play area. Kiddie Academy of Louisville-East will serve 160 children. The building is currently under construction by Buffalo Construction Inc.

When is Kiddie Academy of Louisville opening?

Kiddie Academy of Louisville is planning to open its doors to families in the second week of August 2023 aligned to JCPS calendar for the 2023-2024 K-12 school year.

What are the hours of operation?

Kiddie Academy of Louisville will be open from 7 AM to 6 PM from Monday to Friday.

Does Kiddie Academy of Louisville accept part-time attendance?

Part-time enrollment will only be accepted when a spot in the classroom requested is available. Part-time is offered only in the Two’s, Three’s, and Four’s classrooms. Part-time is defined as either Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or Tuesday and Thursday, no half days are considered.

Does Kiddie Academy of Louisville allow time off for vacation or other leaves without tuition pay?

Yes, Kiddie Academy of Louisville grants families one week per year with no tuition obligation from August to May. We ask families to let us know the dates of the time off as much in advance as possible. Tuition will be taken off the following payment after notice is given to Director. During the summer months (June & July), tuition will be charged by week if parents decide to take weeks off during a certain month.

Does Kiddie Academy of Louisville offer extra-curricular activities for children?

Yes, we will offer a Music program for all age groups, Yoga and Zumba for Two’s and above, and Spanish, which is incorporated into the curriculum for Two-Year-Olds and older. Kiddie Academy also offers a program embedded in our curriculum dedicated to build character with monthly themes supporting the social and emotional development of children beginning in infancy. What security measures will Kiddie Academy of Louisville implement to ensure the safety of my child?

Kiddie Academy of Louisville will install webcams in every classroom and the outdoor areas to provide secure access to parents to watch their children during the day and for Director and Owner to stay on top of teachers’ needs. This will be at no cost for parents, and it is provided through a national recognized vendor called WatchMeGrow. Additionally, we will have a code-punching pad at main entrance for parents to check children in and out every day.

What is the educational and experience background Kiddie Academy of Louisville will require from staff?

Head teachers will be required to have a degree in early childhood education or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in early childhood education with a master’s degree considered a plus. All teachers are also required to complete a minimum of 15 hours of mandatory training by the state of Kentucky, CPR training and/or certification, food training (especially for infants and toddlers), and a minimum of 10 hours of self-study in our ProSolutions training program every year, a national early childhood education partner for preschools. Lastly, throughout the year, teachers will be trained on their grade’s Life Essentials curriculum through the Directors guidance and weekly activity handbooks. This curriculum has been well researched and is continuously updated to meet and exceed the trends in early childhood education, and state requirements.

Will Kiddie Academy of Louisville require staff to have the Covid-19 vaccine?

Yes, all individuals working at our center will need to have the Covid-19 vaccine. We will not be requiring the flu shot for the time being.

What are the observed holidays during the calendar year?

New Year’s Day, Derby Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Will Kiddie Academy provide meals and snacks to children?

Yes, Kiddie Academy will provide healthy meals shared in family style dining, and healthy snacks twice a day. Infants will need to come with their own food.

Will moms be welcome to visit infants during the day for feeding sessions?

Yes, we welcome moms and will provide a private corner in the classroom for feeding sessions.

Will Kiddie Academy partner with parents in their potty-training journey?

Yes, we will support your potty-training needs and help you get your child ready for school in a holistic manner, not only considering mind and heart, but body as well.

What are the teachers’ ratios by classroom?

There will be additional staff members constantly supporting teachers in classrooms for breaks and additional support. Our classrooms will also have a smaller class and a bigger class for 2-year-olds and older. Parents can choose which group their child would benefit to be in, as availability allows.
