Dear Kiddie Academy of White Plains Community –
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you regarding the expansion of our Center this Autumn. In response to the significant demand in our community, and our 100-child waitlist, we have decided to add two additional classrooms to our facility, with a special focus on serving the Toddler age group. Our goal is to support members of our community by providing a high-quality daycare experience for all families.
The addition of these new classrooms will not only allow us to accommodate more children but also provide an opportunity to enhance our program in ways that benefit current families as well. We believe that these improvements will further contribute to the overall growth and development of the children in our care.
Here are the specific actions we are taking to improve our program:
- Expanding our Kitchen: Our chef, Ms. Monique, has been doing a masterful job of creating delicious and nutritious meals for our students each day. However, we recognize the need for more space to continue providing such high-quality food. By expanding our kitchen, we can ensure that Ms. Monique has the resources and space necessary to continue her exceptional work.
- Additional Indoor Play Space: We understand the importance of gross motor play, especially during the long, cold, and dark winter months. Therefore, we have made the decision to convert the current “Racoons” classroom into a dedicated playroom. This expansion will offer more opportunities for indoor gross motor play, allowing children to engage in active and stimulating activities throughout the year.
- Larger staff lounge: Our hardworking staff members deserve a comfortable and spacious area where they can take breaks, relax, and recharge. As part of our program improvements, we are expanding our staff lounge to provide more room for our staff to unwind and connect with one another.
- Larger Meeting Room: We recognize the importance of having a dedicated space for conferences, therapy sessions, pumping, and other essential activities. Therefore, we are expanding our meeting room to accommodate these needs. This increased space will ensure that we can provide a comfortable and private environment for various meetings and services.
- Expanded playground: We believe in the value of outdoor play and its positive impact on children’s development. As part of our expansion, we are adding a third play area to our playground. This expanded space will allow children to spend even longer periods outside, enjoying the benefits of fresh air, physical activity, and exploration.
- Opportunities for Existing Teacher Assistants: We are proud to support the professional growth of our dedicated Teacher Assistants. As part of our expansion, we will be offering opportunities for our teacher assistants who are pursuing degrees in early childhood education to transition into Lead Teacher roles in the new classrooms. This initiative not only recognizes their dedication but also ensures continuity and familiarity for the children transitioning to the new classrooms.
We understand that any construction or changes to our daycare environment can potentially disrupt the routine of our current students. We want to assure you that we will be taking every possible measure to minimize disruptions during this expansion process. Our team will work diligently to ensure a smooth transition, and we will communicate any necessary adjustments or temporary arrangements well in advance.
The timeline for the build-out and completion of the expansion is approximately three months. We will keep you informed about the progress and provide updates along the way. Our goal is to minimize any inconvenience and maintain the high standards of care and education that you have come to expect from us.
