At Kiddie Academy’s core is its Life Essentials® curriculum, developed based on the idea that children learn best through direct experiences. These types of experiences allow children to use their own creativity in an environment that encourages curiosity and exploration. In tandem, educators act as facilitators for play-based learning that nurtures, educates, and inspires.
While the Life Essentials curriculum is rooted in high-quality learning, its focus is on producing six critical outcomes: Character, Confidence, Curiosity, Connection, Critical Thinking, and Creative Expression. Each is intended to support your child through stages of cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Every outcome is significant, but Character is what Kiddie Academy considers the heart of Life Essentials. It is defined by an ability to empathize, help and care for others, regulate emotions, and solve conflicts. To encourage Character, Kiddie Academy implements a proprietary Character Essentials® curriculum that incorporates everyday themes such as sharing and friendship to help children better understand themselves and the world around them.
The curriculum’s design is intended to unify the promotion, practice, and reinforcement of social emotional skills. This ensures that Character education is integrated into all aspects of the Academy and taught as a way of life. Additionally, educational lessons and activities provide a solid foundation for good citizenship and strong social-emotional development, enabling children to learn good character traits and common values so they can become strong, confident individuals. The goal is to develop a feeling and culture of acceptance, kindness, and empathy throughout the Kiddie Academy community.
Character education prepares children with the traits they need to become contributing members of society. It significantly impacts their future, helping them manage their feelings and develop prosocial behavior. By instilling this at a young age, children are better prepared for the various successes and challenges of life.
