Giving back is a large part of the Kiddie Academy® DNA, and we are proud to continue partnering with non-profit organizations that create a brighter future for children and their families.
Every year, Family Promise encourages families to participate in its Night Without a Bed initiative. This national social media awareness campaign helps educate the public about homelessness and Family Promise’s commitment to finding a solution. It creates an empathetic foundation among children while offering an engaging way to raise funds.
This year, various Kiddie Academy locations across the country hosted their own Night Without a Bed event to raise money for Family Promise. Here are a few that stood out:
Kiddie Academy of East Setauket
Kiddie Academy of East Setauket hosted a successful Night Without a Bed event this year, raising more than $1,000 for Family Promise. The children assisted in graphing their process at the Academy, creating an interactive way to celebrate their fundraising efforts. Families helped spread the word about how they were participating at home by sharing photos and using the hashtag #NightWithoutABed.
“We are so proud of our academy and community for coming together for such a great cause,” said Kiddie Academy of Setauket.
Kiddie Academy of Colonia
Kiddie Academy of Colonia celebrated and fundraised for the second year in a row. They participated in Night Without a Bed by having younger children dress up for pajama day and having older children bring in sleeping bags to use in lieu of their cots for naptime. The Academy took time to discuss the joys of giving and helping others in need, and families made generous donations that resulted in a contribution of more than $1,000 for Family Promise.
Kiddie Academy of Prosper
Kiddie Academy of Prosper encouraged parents to talk to their children about homelessness, bringing awareness to Night Without a Bed’s mission and helping them foster gratitude for what they have. Children slept somewhere other than their bed for one night, sharing pictures on social media and making contributions directly to Family Promise.
Many Kiddie Academy locations are still collecting financial donations for Family Promise as part of this initiative. Check with your local Academy to see if they’re taking donations or donate directly through the Family Promise website.
